Catherine Davidson

Founder & Principal Advisor

Catherine is a food scientist and microbiologist who has spent her career inside food manufacturing — leading food safety and quality at the VP level for national food and dairy manufacturers, and transforming how those organizations deliver it.

She built 4 Foxes as an independent executive advisory firm at the intersection of food safety, quality, regulatory strategy and Operational Excellence — grounded in the belief that strong performance depends on the alignment of leadership, people, process, risk, evidence, accountability and continuous improvement.

Today she works especially with boutique food brands, startups and private equity-backed companies building their systems as they grow — and with established manufacturers facing a problem that won't go away.

She leads as a servant leader: engage the people, earn their trust, then drive the systems that deliver results.

Why 4 Foxes

A fox at the door, and a compass for the road ahead.

Years working alongside Irish colleagues at Kerry taught me a certain colorful phrase for the moments when things go sideways. Say "4 Foxes" out loud with a smile, and you'll hear where the name began.

Then, not long after I decided to build something of my own, a fox showed up on my front porch in the early hours of the morning — captured, of all places, on my doorbell camera.

The more I thought about it, the more the fox fit. Curious. Clever. Quick to read a situation and find a way through. That is exactly what I want to bring to the companies I work with.

The compass came next. When food companies face their most challenging moments — a positive that won't go away, a complaint that reaches a customer, a decision that has to be defensible — they need someone who can help them find true north and navigate through it.

I bring the experience, a disciplined mind for process and tools, and a clear view of what a consultant should really provide. My work is transforming how companies deliver food safety and quality.

What I bring

A career spent transforming food safety and quality from the inside.

I've led FSQ inside the plants, labs and leadership teams of national manufacturers. I know how good teams end up in hard places — and how to help them out.

Transformation

Rebuilding FSQ organizations from the people up — so performance improves and stays improved.

Process building

Designing the programs and processes behind food safety, built to hold when the pressure is on.

A way out of the corner

Practical solutions for the corners manufacturing teams sometimes paint themselves into.

Tools that show the gaps

Guidance tools that explain what regulations mean inside your walls — and make the gaps visible.

What you receive
Work leadership can act on.

Every engagement ends with a clear, evidence-based report: what was found, what it means, and a defined path forward — supported by visuals that make risk easy to see. When a customer response is needed, I help you prepare that too, while your team stays in ownership of the actions.

Mission

To help food industry leaders make confident, informed and defensible decisions that protect consumers, strengthen organizations and build lasting resilience.

Vision

To be the most trusted independent executive advisory firm for food safety, quality, regulatory strategy and Operational Excellence.
